The DCSBD by ROPLASS was utilized in different research projects by our group Plasma Technology at the University of Kiel, Germany. For example, its application has been studied in a project "NanoMet" funded by the AiF. Surfaces of different polymer materials were activated and their water contact angle substantially decreased due to plasma treatment by the DCSBD. By changing the surface energy, significant improvements in the areas of printing and bonding were achieved. In particular, the plasma source is well suited for the treatment of large areas. So far, it was subject of two Bachelor and two Master theses within our research group.
